Augusta Herskovits began her music studies in Timisoara, then became a student of Béla Bartók at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. She received the diploma of pianist performer and music teacher with distinction. She has performed as a soloist in Budapest, Timisoara and other cities in Transylvania. At her concerts she regularly performed works by Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály.
On March 9, 1946, the Jewish Democratic Committee organized a concert dedicated to the work of Max Eisikovits, with the participation of prestigious musicians, including L. Österreicher - Jewish Rhapsody for Violin, Magda Kardos, Viorica Kállai-Markovits - Lieder, poems by József Attila and Ady Endre, Auguszta Herskovits - French-style piano sonata, Al. Boroş - Jewish-themed cello elegy.
Auguszta Clausius, b. Hershkovits was a well-known pedagogue who discovered and promoted many talented young pianists. She committed suicide in 1951 at the age of 39 years.
