The central themes in Agnes Pschorn's work are people in their social and personal environment. She refers to events which happened a long time ago or to contemporary topics. The paintings are a kind of a surreal mirror of human existence. Some works are abstract, pure gesture and only render a state of mind, without human figures, such as the installation "Time of War". In other works sketched figures appear, or portraits with realistic elements. The technique used can be abstract-gestic, or figurative expressive depending on the theme which she deals with. Of particular importance in all her paintings are the striking colours that emphasize the dramatism of her art.
