Purim

"Dice Day" is the 14th month of Adar, which falls in February or March. It is the commemoration of the salvation of the Jews in ancient Persia, thanks to the beautiful wife of King Ahasuerus, Esther, from the genocide plotted by Haman, one of the king's advisers. The story is recorded in Meghilat Ester (The Book of Esther).

Every year, Purim is celebrated with games, gifts and a masquerade ball and is an occasion of great joy.
